Rockin' it!

Tonight turned into a definite rock evening! I wasn't really expecting it (the rock part), but it was tons of fun!!

Last week, I decided I wanted to go to Colors to Cooks live, so I sent them a message to that effect, and then I got my name on the list! Actually, so far, I've only ever been to their street lives, so it was interesting to see them perform in a live house!  Usually they are a group of two or three, but today they had some extra guitar support and piano as well. (Also the person who was doing guitar support will also apparently be a new permanent member of the group) Since they were the main act of the night, they performed last, and as usual it was very energetic, but today was somehow an even higher level! It was so much fun!

Also, I found another band I like! While Colors to Cooks are more like pop-rock, this group is 100% rock. The group is called "Farewell my Faith" and they had so much energy and power! Also, their lead singer had a kind of charismatic magnetism that made it really hard to look anywhere but at them. And, needless to say, I really enjoyed their music!!

*borrowed from Twitter!

The two other groups that performed weren't bad, but I don't know that I enjoyed their music as much as the two groups I just talked about...

It was definitely an interesting evening!

There was also a wide range of people who went, from young people to grandmothers (the two grandmothers talked with me a little bit at the end...and I was kind of jealous because they got to sit on stools...) Ah!! That was another surprising thing for me--it was a standing only live. This is only the second time I've been to a live like that...so it was kind of unexpected for me. And maybe not so good....including train time, I ended up spending over 6 hours standing on my feet (which aren't 100% healed yet). That can't be good. They hurt a little now. But it was worth it to have that level of fun! I feel refreshed!! But...I think I'm going to take some time to rev down...

Maybe I should drink some of the chamomile tea my Japanese teacher gave me earlier this week...Hmmm....
